Amalna is a vast world, rich with lore, ancient cities and keeps, and prowled by dangerous monsters. Due to all the monsters, extensive travel is difficult and extremely dangerous, leading to many city-states ruling over vast territory, but only somewhat. Magic is a wild energy that exists naturally in the world, and many have tried to tame it or use it for their own ends, which usually leads to disaster. True adventurers are rare in this setting – they are more powerful than the common soldier, priest or mage, but only after years and years of study and training. Their services are required everywhere in the world of Amalna.
